Simon who is the Principal of Cuckfield Dental Practice, qualified from UCH in 1991 and obtained his membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners in 2001. He was awarded the Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies in 2004. In 2008 he was awarded the Diploma in Restorative Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons. He is actively involved in postgraduate dental education for new graduates, being Vocational Training Advisor for Sussex. His outside interests include squash and mountain biking.

What would your favourite holiday destination be and why?
Portugal, I love it!

What is your phobia?
Heights.

If you were marooned on a desert island, what five items of food would you wish to have with you?
Beer, wine, cheese, bread and bananas.

What other five items would you wish to have with you?
Blackberry, my PC, bikes and an electric toothbrush.

What is your idea of food hell?
Brussel sprouts.

If you could be anyone for a day, who would that be?
A prime minister of the UK.

Judy
Dr Judy Beckerson BDS 1974 (London)

Judy qualified at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Dental School in 1974 and worked in London for five years before having three children. Since 1988, Judy has been working locally within general practice. She particularly enjoys treating children. In 2006 Judy trained further in periodontology. She volunteers frequently with Bridge2Aid, a dental charity working in Tanzania.

Sally qualified from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Dental School in July 2004. Sally obtained her Membership of the Joint Dental Faculty and is involved in vocational training. Sally is particularly interested in the restoration of teeth, especially dental implants and she has recently obtained a Certificate of Surgical and Prosthetic Implant Dentistry from The Eastman Dental Hospital in London. Sally was lucky enough to have a place at the London Marathon 2011 and completed the Marathon in 5 1/2 hours and raised over £2000 for Bridge2Aid.

What would your favourite holiday destination be and why?
Anywhere hot and sunny, as I worship the sun.

What is your phobia?
Spiders and heights.

If you were marooned on a desert island, what five items of food would you wish to have with you?
Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate and chocolate.

What other five items would you wish to have with you?
Coffee, shower and does my boyfriend count as an item?

What is your idea of food hell?
Offal.

If you could be anyone for a day, who would that be?
The Queen.

Olympics.

Sally
Dr Stephanie Rose BDS (Hons) (London) 2008 MJDF RCS (England)

Stephanie qualified with Honours from St Bart’s and The Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2008. During this time, she was awarded the General Dental Council’s prize for professionalism. In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys a wide range of sports, including scuba diving, and playing the acoustic and electric guitar. Stephanie is also currently working as a Maxillo-facial Senior House Officer at the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead.

What would your favourite holiday destination be and why?
Maldives, diving.

What is your phobia?
Spiders.

If you were marooned on a desert island, what five items of food would you wish to have with you?
Chocolate cake (sugar free), crispy aromatic duck, Ben and Jerry’s ice cream, strawberries and pineapple.

What other five items would you wish to have with you?
David Attenborough or Ray Mears, never ending water cooling fountain, i-pod, football, diving gear.

What is your idea of food hell?
Ravioli.

If you could be anyone for a day, who would that be?
Jenson Button.

Agi Tarnowski
Dr Agi Tarnowski BDS (Cardiff) 1997 MFGDP (UK) Dip Rest Dent RCS (England) MSc (Leeds)

Agi qualified in 1997 in Cardiff and then worked in the hospital there as a Senior House Officer; she then went on to work as a dentist in Australia for a year. Since 2002 she has worked in general practice and for Community Dental Practice in West Sussex. She was awarded the Diploma in Restorative Dentistry in 2009 and completed a MSc in 2011.

Agi is currently studying a MSc in Restorative Dentistry through Leeds University.

What would your favourite holiday destination be and why?
Anywhere warm and sunny every day.

What is your phobia?
I don’t really have one.

If you were marooned on a desert island, what five items of food would you wish to have with you?
Tea, rice and more rice, beans and cheese on toast.

What other five items would you have with you on that desert island?
Kaftan/sunhat, bottle, towel, a mosquito net and a mirror 

What is your idea of food hell?
Slimey, gristly, chewy meat.

If you could be anyone for a day, who would that be?
Elle Macpherson.

Beach volleyball somewhere tropical.

Hiten Pankhania

Hiten qualified with Honours from King’s College, London and was awarded the Newland Medley Prize and Medal for graduating top of his year. He was also nominated for the prestigious University of London Gold Medal. He is very focused on continuing development and recently attained Membership of Joint Dental Faculty. Hiten aims to provide his patients with a relaxed and laid back visit to the surgery! Outside of dentistry Hiten enjoys football, cricket and golf and ran a half-marathon in aid of Cleft.

What would your favourite holiday destination be and why?
Fiji – the beaches, the food and the people are all amazing.

What is your phobia?
Take That

Pizza, cheese, custard, a Satsuma and nachos

Football, sun-block, e-book, The Best of Michael Jackson CD, something with which to play The Best of Michael Jackson CD!

Vimal Patel

Vimal qualified with honours from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2010. Vimal also has a degree in Biomedical Sciences from King’s College London.

Outside work Vimal enjoys socialising, keeping fit and has a passion for any sporting activities ranging from climbing to yoga.

What would your favourite holiday destination be and why?
The moon because it’s far away and would be an amazing experience.

What is your phobia?
Rats!

Nando’s whole chicken, pepperoni pizza, lamb kebabs, cajun chicken sandwiches and chocolate cake with icing.

No food! Or too many vegetables!

A really generously filled mushroom pie with a drizzle of mushroom jus.
